Rams Head, Confederate Officer’s Spur

This item was dug in a North Alabama cavalry site by the land owner. This is a very heavily constructed spur. It has a rams head on each side of the rowel. It has a long rowel hole and is decorative where it attaches. This was probably a private purchase by an officer and may well be older than the Civil War.
