Civil War Cedar Canteen Dated 1861

This is one of the cedar canteens purchased from the British and run through the blockade. The British had used this style since the days of Waterloo. It is stamped 1861 with the British Broad Arrow on one side and AA Andrews, “the Contractor” with C&M, 1861 on the other side. The canteen is in excellent condition and retains 98% of the original paint. Confederate Made Cedar Canteens of this style sell in the thousands of dollars.
